This is a Level I 2-day workshop also available as 8 online modules/webinars – L4MCY1101
This workshop is designed to help both emerging and established managers and leaders understand, update and develop the key benchmarks they need to measure up to in a highly competitive business environment.
Before the workshop starts, participants will have the opportunity to take the world renowned Myers-Briggs Type Inventory® assessment (MBTI®) and obtain a full professional report on the first day of the program. During the event, participants will identify and learn how to develop the necessary competencies to become an effective manager and leader and how to leverage their MBTI type.
Throughout the workshop, participants will learn fundamental and intensive development of Management and Leadership Competencies. Participants will identify what the research has found regarding effective leadership and how it applies to every-day business practices. They will then explore examples and scenarios of the use of each of the competencies and apply the basic principles they learn to a variety of increasingly complex scenarios. In each scenario the participants will be presented with additional challenges and additional tools to help them refine their skills and enhance outcomes.
At the program, participants will first define what competencies are, identify what competencies are applicable to management and leadership, and create a basic Management and Leadership Competency Profile for their organization. Participants will also create a personalized Individual Management and Leadership Competency Tracker to assess their current mastery level and plan for future development.
On the second day, participants will move on to use the skills learned on day one to build an Management and Leadership Road Maps for their organization and develop a plan for ongoing management and leadership skills for themselves and the rest of their team. Finally, participants will have the opportunity to look back at the skills learned and discuss the adaptation of these tools to the creation of a fully comprehensive Competency Management Strategy.

The course is intended for those who want to know how to create sound strategies step by step and for those seeking to optimize their existing strategies. The content is equally important for entry level as well as for experienced strategists and decision makers. The facilitator will guide participants through a series of scenarios and exercises that will challenge them to improve on how they currently design and create their strategic plans.
This course will employ an agile learning approach to the study of Strategic Planning. In this model, participants will first learn the basics of Strategic Planning and then develop mastery as they apply the basic principles to a variety of increasingly complex scenarios. In each scenario the participants will be presented with additional challenges and additional tools to help them refine their skills and enhance outcomes.
On the first day, participants will first define the steps in the Strategic Process, and create a basic Personal Business Strategic Plan. In this initial phase, participants will practice creating a clear vision and develop from it a viable strategic plan. Participants will also learn to use additional strategy planning tools such as SWOT Analysis in different and creative ways. Following the agile learning approach, participants will build upon the initial lesson to a more complex task. They will create a Marketing Strategy adding the 4Ps Model to their toolbox. They will also craft a Cost Strategy using PEST Analysis. As a final step, participants will consolidate these last two strategies to formulate a comprehensive Competitive Strategy using Force Analysis.
After a short review on the second day, participants will move on to use the skills learned on day one to build an Operational Strategy using Smart Goals. Next, attendees will learn to use Strategy Maps to formulate a Business Strategy. Finally, participants will have the opportunity to look back at the skills learned and discuss the adaptation of these tools to the creation of a fully comprehensive Corporate Strategy.
